If you are an international student looking to study at TUM Asia, you will have to obtain a valid student pass (Visa) to study in Singapore. The process to start the application for your student pass takes place approximately 2 to 3 months before your arrival in Singapore. There is no need to apply for your student pass any earlier than that.

TUM Asia will help you start the application process and we will then give you instructions on how to complete the application online yourself. You will have to pay a small fee (averaging S$30) for the application for student pass. Once the application has been approved, you will be issued an In-Principle Approval (IPA) letter, and with this letter, you may enter Singapore with a valid passport.

After you have arrived in Singapore and completed your health check-up, and if everything is in order, you will then be notified by the authorities to collect your student pass in Singapore. A valid student pass is required for your studies in Singapore if you hold a non-Singapore passport.

Upon completion of your degree programme, you are required to surrender your student pass at the end of your studies. After which, you may choose to secure employment in order to secure a work pass to work in Singapore. The laws of Singapore govern the issuance of these passes. More information about the available types of passes can be found here.
